Practical Pilotage. With reference to paragraph 12 of Commodore Elliott's report of the 18th April 1935, the Admiralty have approved a crew for H.M. Trawler "Barnet", but, until this arrives, it is only possible to use the ship for training purposes when specially commissioned for other duties. Only one oppor- tunity for training in practical pilotage occurred during the year under report, when the "Barnet" was commissioned in October last. On this occasion, nearly the entire Force embarked and both gained valuable experience in practical navigation and improved its acquaintance ship with the local waters.
In addition to this drill in the "Barnet" one exercise at sea was arranged in the Launch "Kwong Lee", but this ship is not
suitable.
